When pregnant with my first child in 2006, I began educating myself on all the harmful chemicals we are exposed to on a daily basis. I became well AWARE of the issues plaguing our environment, and I knew I wanted to make a lifestyle change for my family. There is so much information out there on being “green” and leading a sustainable lifestyle, it can be overwhelming. I’m not perfect at being green or leading a sustainable lifestyle, but I’m learning just like you; one step at a time.
I believe that while existing “rules” and “norms” give us important footing for navigating the world around us, the ability to experiment comfortably outside the norm will become more important. In today’s competitive and fast changing world, we can never hope to achieve success in work and life unless we’re willing to embrace change, even if it’s just a little tiny bit at a time.
