The smoothing treatment originated in Brazil and uses ingredients indigenous to the country including camu camu, annatto seed, and açai berry. After getting the treatment, your hair will be left hydrated, less frizzy, and more resilient to heat styling — not to mention, with an insanely glossy mirror-like shine.

What is a Brazilian Blowout Treatment?
A Brazilian Blowout treatment is a chemical-free keratin hair straightening process that lasts for up to 12 weeks. It was originally designed in Brazil, where it’s very popular among celebrities and people who want sleek locks without the frizz. The results are similar to some other types of perms but not as tight or coarse because there aren’t any chemicals used on your head during the application!
Although a Brazilian blowout has its benefits, the treatment can’t be mentioned without addressing the controversy surrounding it. There has been concern about the formaldehyde in its formula. I find that if they’re done properly and in well-ventilated areas they are not harmful at all.
Brazilian Blowout VS Keratin Treatments
What’s the Difference Between Brazilian Blowouts and Keratin Treatments?
Brazilian blowouts and keratin treatments essentially have the same effect on hair: both eliminate frizz and boost shine. They’re safe for all hair types and can be done on color-treated hair. However, Brazilian blowouts are more customized based on your particular hair type and specific hair needs.
Since the market is so saturated with keratin hair treatments, you could spend hours googling what you think would be best for the hair look and feel you’re after, but the Brazilian blowout can be adjusted for different hair textures. The hairstylist can flat iron the hair at different temperatures and achieve different looks and feels. Check out how the Brazilian Blowout is for all hair types and hair textures, click here.
What this means is that if you don’t want your hair completely straight, your hairstylist can tailor the treatment so that your natural hair texture isn’t completely lost. They’ll still seal the treatment with a 450-degree flat iron, and you’ll still have smooth hair & voluminous waves when they’re all done.
How Long Does The Brazilian Blowout Last?
Provided that you don’t use harsh hair shampoos that contain sulfates and chlorine, your hair treatment should last anywhere from three to four months — possibly longer if you don’t need to wash your hair as regularly as some. Don’t over wash your hair!
Once it wears off, your hair will return to its natural curl pattern. You’ll start to see it around the hairline first, That’s your indicator of when it’s time to get it redone. Even if you don’t get it touched up right away, there’s no obvious line of demarcation between the previously treated hair and new growth, unlike with other relaxing or straightening methods.
